Global Temperature Changes: The Effect of Human Activity

The global temperature has been rising steadily over the past 100 year. Human activity is the only possible explanation. According to scientists, the main cause for the increase in global temperatures is human activity (Fang and Smith 2017, 2018). Fossil fuel burning emits carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. The sun heat is trapped in the atmosphere and the Earth’s temperatures rises (Fang, et al. 2017). Smith, 2018, further states that deforestation causes trees to be removed from the earth’s atmosphere and increases the temperature. This conclusion is supported by the most recent IPCC data (Moss and al., 2019,). The IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report states that “anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history” and “it is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century” (Moss et al., 2019, p. 5). The evidence suggests that the main driver for the rise in global temperatures is human activity and not natural causes.
