Synthesis of 2-Methyl-2,Butanol using Acetone/Formaldehyde
This synthesis aims to make 2-methyl-2,butanol using acetone and formaldehyde. A sequence of organic reactions will lead to the synthesis, which includes a nucleophilic substitute and dehydration reaction. This synthesis starts with the nucleophilic substitute of the Acetone with Formaldehyde in an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution.
