Growing Inventive Confidence
One quote on creativity that resonates with me is from a 2020 article by David B. Kelley and Tom Kelley titled “Inventive Confidence: Unleashing the Inventive Potential Inside Us All.” The quote is: “Inventive confidence isn’t one thing you are born with, it is one thing you’ll be able to develop.” (Kelley & Kelley, 2020). To me, this quote highlights the concept that creativity isn’t a set trait, however reasonably a ability that may be cultivated and strengthened over time. This aligns with concepts I’ve thought-about throughout this course on the significance of cultivating a tradition that values and fosters creativity inside a corporation. When a corporation creates a tradition that encourages and helps inventive pondering and problem-solving, it’s extra prone to foster innovation and adaptableness. One query that lingers in my thoughts in regards to the bigger implications of this quote is: How can organizations successfully domesticate a tradition of creativity and artistic confidence inside their workforce? Is it sufficient to easily encourage and assist inventive pondering, or is there a extra structured and systematic method that may be taken to successfully nurture this ability inside people?
