A recent study in The Journal of Business Research found that effective inter-organizational management can increase project success and efficiency (Sharma 2019, 2019). Strong relationships among organizations facilitate collaboration and information sharing, leading ultimately to better decision making and solution-making (Kim, 2020). These relationships can be difficult to manage. Park, 2020. A recent study by the Academy of Management Review revealed that inter-organizational collaboration can be hindered by power imbalances or conflicts of interest (Park). These potential problems should be identified and addressed by organizations. From personal experience, I know first-hand how positive inter-organisational relationships can impact project results. Collaboration between organisations can create trust, open communication and lead to innovative ideas.
