Calculation for Percentage of Zinc Sulphate Volume Composition (ZnSO4.7H2O).
To calculate the percent mass in volume composition (ZnSO4.7H2O), we used a 3.1128g sample of zinc metal. The zinc metal was first dissolved in dilute sulfuric acid, then it was made into 371 cm3 by adding water. To calculate the molar weight of zinc sulphate, (ZnSO4.7H2O), the first step is to measure it. Zinc sulphate’s molar mass is 287.5g/mol (Min 2018, 2018). Next is to find the molarity. The molarity of zinc sulphate is determined by multiplying the mass of the metal by its molecular mass. Calculating the mass of zinc sulfurate is done by multiplying its mass with the molecularweight ratio zinc to zinc, (Minimal weight ratio: 2018, 2018). Molecular weight ratio for zinc to zinc sulfurate is 1:15. (Mini, 2018). The mass of zinc sulfurate can be calculated by multiplying the 3.1128g of zinc metal with the molecularweight ratio of zinc and zinc sulphate to get 4.669g.
