A widely-used method for analyzing the contents of aspirin is tipration. The technique measures the concentration of a reagent required to react with the known quantity of sample. (Szporny 2020). Titration allows for the precise analysis of the sample’s content. The content of aspirin in this experiment was determined by titration. An aspirin sample was taken and analysed. Each tablet contained 300mg of aspirin. The tablet’s total mass was 6.8987g. After the tablets had been crushed, 0.5429g was added to 30.0mL of 0.487M sodium hydroxide solution. This mixture was then gently boiled for 10 min. To neutralize the excess alkali, the solution was then diluted with 0.482M hydrochloric acids solution. 20.2mL was needed. To calculate the amount of aspirin present in the sample, the ratio was 1:2 (C9H8O4) and NaOH (Kumar 2020).
